Senior Class Teacher at Chiddingly
My teaching career began in Kent in 1998 where I taught Year 4 and Year 6 for a number of years before moving to East Sussex. After working part time in local schools around maternity breaks, I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to become deputy manager of a large nursery in Eastbourne. This was where my love of teaching Early Years began! Following a further three years teaching Year 1 at my local school, I moved to Chiddingly in 2012. I am so proud to have been a part of the amazing journey that this school has been on. Chiddingly School is a very special place.
I feel very privileged to be able to start children on their journey into school life and always strive to do this with professionalism, warmth and encouragement. Early Years is where the magic happens! Children further develop their love of learning and then use their new skills and independence as they grow. I love working with the youngest children, sharing their experiences, smiles and funny comments and facilitating their learning in our beautiful setting.
When I’m not at school, I try to spend as much time as possible with my two children, as well as socialising with my family, friends and the wonderful Pioneer staff team! And if there is any time left after this, I love swimming whenever I can and one day I will finally take up running!
