The Pioneer Federation Hub Information

What is the purpose of the Hub?

The core purpose of the Early Years Hubs for Excellence is to enable the diverse early education provision in East Sussex to thrive.

EYFS Hubs provide regular opportunities for schools, pre-schools, childminders, Children’s Centres, other key partners and the Local Authority to work in partnership across their local area to ensure that:

  • All children are able to attend an early education provision that is rated at least Good by Ofsted
  • All children achieve the best possible outcomes from their early education
  • All children experience consistent and wherever possible seamless Foundation Stage learning.

The Pioneer Hub for Ringmer and Lewes

The Pioneer Early Years Hub for the schools in the Ringmer and Lewes area, is co-ordinated by Sheridan Denney. Sheridan teaches Reception and is part of the SLT team in her school. She is EYFS Lead at East Hoathly School and works in partnership with the manager of the on-site Nursery.

The aim for the Pioneer Hub is to provide training, networking and opportunities to work together to improve outcomes for all the children in our settings. As a Hub we will meet across the academic year to take part in different activities including training and moderation. The content of our meetings and training will be decided by the group as a whole to ensure we are meeting the needs of the children and staff in our settings. The Hub will hold core meetings in terms 1, 3 and 5 alongside the Ringmer and Lewes Moderation Group meetings in Term 2, 4 and 6. Training dates may be in addition to these meetings.

All EYFS practitioners are very welcome to attend and contribute. For more information, please contact us at eyfshub@pioneerfederation.co.uk
