I graduated from Winchester University in 2009 and began my teaching career at St John’s Meads Primary School in Eastbourne. I moved to East Hoathly Primary School in 2013 where I took on Senior Teacher role and then began as Deputy Head at Chiddingly in 2015. I have been a class teacher for children from Year 2 to Year 6.
Teaching has been a passion of mine for a long time – with a mother and two grandmothers as teachers, I was always destined to follow in their footsteps! I love teaching literacy and really enjoy seeing children make leaps in their learning! I took on the role of singing and choir teacher when at East Hoathly and brought that over to Chiddingly when I moved. The enjoyment and passion that the children can show when singing makes it all worthwhile!
I have a young son and a large extended family who all live locally so family-based weekends are often planned.
I look forward to the future of the, already successful, Pioneer Federation and feel proud to be part of such a successful and supportive team of staff, children, governors, parents and extended community members. My vision for the Federation is to continue to build on the outstanding teaching and learning that already occurs and to create environments for all children to succeed; whatever their ability, background or needs.
